American Industrial Revolution in Andover - Historic Mill District

Join us for a walking tour of Andover within the context of the American Industrial Revolution. Stage 1 covers the inception of the railroad, the damming of the Shawsheen and Merrimack Rivers for water power, Smith and Dove and both Marland Mills locations. We then segue into stage 2 and learn about the Gunpowder Factory and Tyer Rubber. The tour includes the rail station, Essex Street, Shawsheen Road, Stevens Street, and Railroad Street.
